Fed: Howard lays blame at AWB's feet

JOHN HOWARD has laid the blame for the Iraq wheat kickbacks scandal on AWB .. saying
it set out to deceive the government.

The prime minister's told Southern Cross Broadcasting .. commissioner TERRENCE COLE
should be allowed to do his job and make his own findings.

But Mr HOWARD's ignored his own advice .. saying a pattern of deceit by AWB is emerging
at the inquiry.

He says AWB not only set out to deceive the government .. but also the UN .. a former
lawyer .. and a former chief justice of Australia.

The PM says voters will judge his government's handling of the scandal at the ballot
box .. admitting some people think he's lied.
