New homes approved despite 15 objections

An Aberdeenshire town is to expand after plans for 277 new homeswere approved.

Peterhead, Aberdeenshire's biggest town, will see the developmenton its north-western side near Waterside Estate.

Developer Scotia Homes has been given the go-ahead to build theproperties despite objections from neighbours of the site.

The plans attracted 15 complaints from nearby residents whoargued the new houses could rob them of their privacy and overshadowtheir homes.

But council planners said they did not consider the development "overbearing".

However the Ellon-based developers were told to sort out accessto the site to avoid lorries driving through Waterside …
