Qld: Opposition says premier misled people over electoral cars

The Queensland Opposition has called on the state government to release all information
on accidents involving taxpayer-funded ministerial vehicles.

Opposition Leader LAWRENCE SPRINGBORG says Premier PETER BEATTIE has misled Queenslanders
by failing to publicly release all information on the issue.

Mr BEATTIE has released information showing 13 ministerial limousines were damaged
in 24 accidents over the last three years, costing about $23,000.

But the information released does not contain details of accidents involving ministers'
electoral vehicles.

Mr BEATTIE has also admitted his wife and one of his sons were involved in separate
accidents in his electoral car last year.

The son of police minister JUDY SPENCE has also been implicated in an accident in her
electoral vehicle.
